I decided to go back and revisit this one as DevilDriver have released two complete albums since this one. Gone are the Coal Chamber days of Dez Farfara. Despite a couple of line-up changes since their self-titled debut, Mr. Farfara is the lead "singer" of this far more advanced outfit. You won't catch very much singing as Dez has traded in clean vocals for a whole lot of yelling. The lyrics and guitar riffs come out at violent speeds and the double-kicker is relentless. Be warned, this album is a heavy bastard. The special edition contains six bonus tracks (three of which are live) and they don't stop the onslaught in any way, shape or form. I have to admit, I'm no longer missing Coal Chamber with these guys putting out some of the coolest riffs I've heard in a while.
