Girl Talk - Stop Cleveland Hate 12" Vinyl EP (2004)

I managed to find an MP3 version of this limited edition vinyl online.  For those who don't know him, Girl Talk (a.k.a. DJ Gregg Gillis) is somewhat known for his controversial albums.  Girl Talk enjoys taking popular songs and mashing them all together to create new sounds and songs.  When playing live, all you get is Gillis and his laptop on stage surrounded very closely by many adoring women.  Where the controversy lies is in the rights to songs.  Seeing as Gillis doesn't exactly pay royalties or get permission to use the songs, many musicians view Gillis as a music thief.  Despite all of this, after listening to Stop Cleveland Hate, I must admit I wasn't terribly impressed with this body of work.  The 6-track record (limited to 1200 copies) is catchy and incorporates a lot of rap and hip-hop songs into its repertoire. It is his usual brand of mashed-up glitch pop but I didn't find as wide a variety of music as on other efforts such as Feed The Animals or Night Ripper.  It was still enjoyable but good luck getting your hands on this one as it has been long out of print.
