Soundgarden - Badmotorfinger (1991)

Well folks, I sort of strayed from the Soundgarden for a bit there.  I promised Badmotorfinger would be up next... it wasn't but here we go now anyways!  What more is there to say other than this was the epitome of grunge.  This was the big one for Soundgarden.  Tracks like "Rusty Cage", "Outshined" and "Jesus Christ Pose" were all the rage and you couldn't not hear them played on the radio or the videos on MTV 24/7.  These were heavy tracks.  Kim Thayil perfected the Drop-D guitar tuning after learning from Buzz Osborne of The Melvins.  Thayil would go on to use several other unorthodox guitar tunings and the band would use several time signatures in their songs including 7/4, 6/4 and 9/8.  There is not much more to say.  This is a classic album and a must have for fans of this period and genre of music.  More Soundgarden is on the way!
