This is in no way a holiday album! Don't let the name fool you. U.S. Christmas are a blues/stoner/hard rock band from the Appalachians. The artwork is simply awesome; I looked it up and it's by a guy named Hush. If you're interested, you can check out more of his work at www.myspace.com/hushillustration. This album has some slow builders on it. The opening track lasts 13 minutes and doesn't let up on sludgy riffs. There are times when the band borders on playing metal but then can switch things up and break out the acoustic guitars and become quite folky. If you enjoy bands like Sleep or Baroness, then this album is for you!
